A suitability map of sugar crops with low and high input levels under rain fed conditions on global land area, with a global grid data layer with a resolution of 5 arc minutes. Each pixel contains the suitability index for rain fed production related to sugar crops or crop groups. Crop suitability data for low input sugar crops under rain fed conditions in the Heilongjiang River Basin were obtained through pruning. The data is sourced from the Food and Agriculture Organization and IIASA（ https://data.apps.fao.org/map/catalog/srv/eng/catalog.search#/metadata/0b6309c0 -8605-11db-b9b2-000d939bc5d88), with a spatial coordinate system of WGS 84.
